How Gratitude Helps Build a Strong Prayer Life

Connecting Gratitude And Prayer:

A relationship with God is developed through thanksgiving. When we thank God during prayer, we are more focused on God’s goodness versus how we perceive the world is lacking. When praying with gratitude, we can come to God in prayer with a greater sense of trust and vulnerability. The Scriptures support this connection as believers are encouraged to express themselves through thanksgiving to God when making their requests to Him (Philippians 4:6) and regardless of the overall circumstances in life (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

Gratitude is not just an emotional state, but it is a gift from God to help deepen our relationship with Him spiritually. It is important to understand the role of gratitude as the basis for building a greater foundation of consistency and joy in our prayer life, regardless of where we may be in our prayer life.
